Sierra Vista Jr. High School is a charter member of the California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF). Students, who achieve at least 16 grade points as described below in their 4 academic classes (math, English, social studies, and science), are eligible to join this Honor Society each semester. An "A" is valued at 3 points, a "B" is 1 point, and a "C" is 0 points.  Disciplinary issues, and Failing grades or "D"s are not allowed in any class (including P.E. and the elective).

The purpose of the society is to provide those students who excel academically an opportunity to perform community service and participate in worthwhile activities. Membership in the Sierra Vista Honor Society is held in high esteem, and our staff encourages all eligible students to join. Remember: Students must apply for the CJSF Honor Society each semester, and you can only receive Honor Member status for Junior high if you join Honor Society ALL 3 semesters at Sierra Vista.
