Melissa Roth - Counselor for Students Op-Z
I cover students with the last names that begin with the letters Op-Z. I am lucky to have been born and raised in California. I have been a counselor at Sierra Vista for over ten years. I began working with students with special needs when I was just in elementary school. I have continued to work with kids, teens, and families throughout my life. I attended San Francisco State University, College of Notre Dame de Namur, and the University of La Verne. I love nature and exploring our beautiful state, whether at the beach or in the mountains, I enjoy being outdoors in its beauty. I have lived in the Santa Clarita area for over 20 years. I have three boys and two dogs at home that keep me busy. I love watching our students grow and bloom and love getting to be a school counselor.
I am our College and career counseling liaison to Canyon High School as well as our Career and Technical Education representative at Sierra Vista. I help orient students to our district used program for Career and College Readiness, Xello. In junior high students will explore the unique characteristics that make them individuals. Students will explore their strengths and weaknesses as they relate to academics and careers. In 8th grade, students begin to plan their personal plan for college and career readiness upon graduation. All students are encouraged to consider completing a Career Pathway Program in High School to explore career interests and to gain valuable employment skills.
I look forward to working with your family as a part of our Sierra Vista community. Together we SUCCEED! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your student and support for their success: [email protected] or 661-252-3113 ext 2031.
